Chain Matrix and Electronic Funds Transfer - statement by Land Registry

In an important development for the long term future of the property market Land Registry is offering to support developers and commercial enterprises that want to develop Chain Matrix^TM and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) type services.

Land Registry proposes three types of support to commercial or other developments:

1. Work in a consultancy capacity to share our experience and learnings from developing and piloting Chain Matrix, or in other areas where Land Registry has expertise.
2. Through discussion with potential providers, identify the way that data held by Land Registry can be provided for use in these commercially offered solutions in a fair and equitable way which is within our legislative framework.
3. By making details of the technical design and architecture of Land Registry’s Chain Matrix service commercially available, with due regard to the security and safety of Land Registry’s systems and data.
