EULIS

Does your business take you into Europe? Then be a pilot user of EULIS

We are currently looking for customers to be pilot users of a facility that will eventually be available to all Land Registry Direct users. The facility allows you to link into EULIS and make enquiries in the services of the countries mentioned below.

Email admin@landregistrydirect.gov.uk now if you are interested in being a pilot user.

 What is EULIS?

Each country's site is different, and some provide information not available on others. However, all countries allow a search using a postal address, and the Lithuanian and Dutch services both offer a map search facility.

Why has this service been established?

EULIS aims to support a single European property market and cross-border lending. It does so by providing information about how conveyancing and registration systems work in the various member countries. It will allow customers to access information and services in other countries online: all European land and property registration services, available through a single portal.

EULIS is the European Land Information Service: a network of land registries working together to provide electronic access to land registration information and services to customers throughout Europe.

Countries currently involved are: England and Wales; Republic of Ireland; Scotland; Austria; Finland; Lithuania; the Netherlands; Norway; and Sweden. More are expected to join.

For more information see eulis.org.

 How does it work?

The EULIS portal allows a customer using their own country's online service to access another's. Right now the services of England and Wales, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Lithuania, and the Netherlands are live for access from other countries.

For example, a customer in England or Wales who needs property ownership details  for land in Sweden, official copies for a specific property, and explanations of what the entries on the register mean, can log on to the Land Registry Direct service which gives access to the EULIS Portal.
