Historically, easements in a lease were not set out in the register of title. Instead the easements were incorporated in the title by way of a standard heading to the Property Register.
From 19 June 2006 the heading used in leasehold registers of title will change. The new heading will be the same as that used on freehold titles. In addition, specific entries referring to the rights granted and reserved in the lease will be made. The text of these entries will vary according to the circumstances of each case.The following is a typical example of how a new style register of title may look.

The text of the entry relating to easements (entry No. 3 in the example above) will vary according to whether any of the rights in the lease are excluded from the registration, or whether the lease grants and reserves rights.
