    Clause LR10

LR10: Restrictive covenants given in this lease by the Landlord in respect of land other than the Property

Please note that this clause should only be used for restrictive covenants that bind land owned by the landlord other than the reversionary interest in the property demised by the lease.
It should not be used for positive covenants of any kind.

A typical example of when this clause should be completed is where the landlord leases a unit in a retail park for a specific purpose (petrol station etc.) and covenants with the tenant not to let another unit for the same purpose. The clause should not be completed where on the granting of a lease of whole the landlord covenants not to do something on the freehold title.

Complete the clause by inserting the relevant provisions or refer to the clause/schedule/paragraph in the body of the lease that contains the covenants. Remember to enter the title number of the burdened land in clause LR2.2, unless it is the same title as that entered in clause LR2.1.

If you leave this clause (LR10) blank, or do not add the relevant title number to clause LR2.2 where required, Land Registry is not obliged to make any entry of the covenants in the register.

The next page looks at clause LR11.
