    Example 5: pitfalls when using an extract of the OS map

    Using a plan based on the Ordnance Survey map makes it much easier to relate the land leased to the Land Registry mapping system. However, things can still go wrong. This plan includes three common problem areas:

    The words 'Not to scale' render it impossible to use the plan.

    The blue stamp in the corner contains words of disclaimer making the plan for identification only.
