    Things to avoid

Example 1: re-using an old black and white photocopy

Poor photocopying of a plan with edging that obliterates the detail.

This plan is based on a black and white photocopy that has been re-coloured. The wide edging extends over and obliterates the detail of the boundary.

The precise width of the roadway at the back of the property cannot be identified and consequently the exact length of the back garden is uncertain.

It is also impossible to scale from a plan of this quality.

The next page looks at plans that have incomplete detail.
