    Registration at Land Registry

If the land is not already registered with freehold title, it must first be registered. An application form FR1 must be lodged together with the customary evidence of title to the freehold, and the appropriate registration fee.

An application to register the land as commonhold freehold can be lodged at the same time as an FR1 application, but an additional fee is payable for the commonhold registration.

If the freehold is already registered but is the subject of a pending application, such as a transfer of part or dealing with the whole of a title, lodged with a form AP1, the commonhold application can still be lodged at the same time. A separate fee is payable for the commonhold application.
