Electronically signing your mortgage deed - how it works

Portal login

two The conveyancer will login to our website and create an electronic mortgage deed for you to sign. They will also supply us with your contact details.

three We will then send you your initial login instructions and security credentials to enable you to sign your electronic mortgage deed online. You will receive a username, temporary password and an authentication grid.

The authentication grid is used in the electronic signing process. It is a chessboard-type grid with a unique combination of letters and numbers in the squares. See Step 8 for how and when you need to use it. Your username and authentication grid will always be sent separately by post. Your password will be sent either by email or post.
