    About us (buyer profile)

Corporate Procurement is a Land Registry Head Office group responsible for the creation of procurement policy, major procurements and providing leadership and training to all Land Registry staff involved in the procurement process.

Our mission is to provide professional procurement services to Land Registry, undertake major procurements and advise and guide local purchasers. We do this by strengthening our relationships with internal customers and strategic suppliers to ensure best value is obtained for all expenditure.

    Our purpose is to:

    • provide functional leadership to all Land Registry staff involved in procurement
    • instil Government policy and good practice into Land Registry policy for the approval of the board
    • provide assurance to the accounting officer and board regarding the conduct of all procurement activities in Land Registry
    • create and maintain a system of governance to ensure procurement is undertaken in a cohesive and consistent manner and that resources are deployed to achieve the objectives set out in the business plans
    • undertake/oversee high-value strategic relationships
    • foster and maintain good relationships with critical suppliers and business partners
    • achieve the highest professional standards in the management of contracts.

Our aim is to provide our customers with a range of cost-effective procurement services based on the principles of:

    • value for money. Competition will be used whenever possible via UK government frameworks and through the Official Journal of the European Union where appropriate. For goods and services below £100,000 we may use www.supply2.gov.uk, a government-backed service designed to give suppliers easy access to contact details and contract opportunities. It's the first port of call for the advertisement of many of Land Registry's lower-value business opportunities
    • timely delivery. Services will be delivered at the time agreed with our customers and in accordance with the priorities given to strategic objectives by the Land Registry boards
    • capability planning. All staff are trained in accordance with Corporate Procurement's staff development policy and other Land Registry policies. We will develop the capabilities of our staff to ensure they have the skills and resources they need
    • resilient services. We will facilitate good communications and working relationships with our prospective and existing suppliers and partners to proactively manage and develop the supply chain. All critical activities will be documented.
