Land Registry Property Gazetteer

The Land Registry Property Gazetteer has been created to be compatible with outside organisations’ systems, such as the National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG), and the National Land and Information Service. It will provide a reliable and effective base upon which to build e-commerce and electronic services.

The accuracy of our address database is vital to the success of Land Registry’s future business strategies, as it will increasingly be used by the public to view our data. To ensure that the database is as accurate and up to date as possible, we have appointed a local address manager in each of our offices. Their role is to investigate and resolve any entry on our address database that could be a duplicate, is inconsistent with existing entries, or could give rise to an error on our internal and external searches. They confirm changes using internal information and consult with the Post Office to ensure postcode accuracy.
