Strategic objective 1: Service First

Land Registry Property Gazetteer

The Land Registry Property Gazetteer (LRPG) has been created to be compatible with outside organisations’ systems such as the National Land and Property Gazetteer and the National Land Information Service. It will provide a reliable and effective base upon which to build e-commerce and electronic services.

A network of Local Address Managers has been put in place to ensure that the LRPG database is accurate, consistent and complete. The database is vital to the success of Land Registry’s future business strategies as it will be the legal profession’s central access point to our systems and will be increasingly used by the general public to view our data.

For each new title created, addresses and postcodes can be compared with records held by the Post Office and local authorities, to maintain consistency and to put right any potential mismatches.
