E-Service Delivery

Electronic Lodgement Of Applications

We introduced electronic notification of Discharges of Charges in 2000. We are now progressing to full electronic Discharge of Charges. This will enable lenders to discharge charges direct, machine to machine, using a 'virtual private network'.

The Nationwide and the Abbey National are part of the team working on a pilot intended for 2003. Prior to that, it will be necessary to undertake a data synchronisation exercise with lenders to ensure that the charge data held by us and by the lenders is identical in all respects.

A further project, to introduce electronic charges, will be started in 2003.
