David Brown, Principal Solicitor at Abbey Law

I find the range of online services provided by Land Registry extremely useful and beneficial, providing certainty and speed. The methods of completion of applications in this respect are extremely user friendly.

It is vital to be able to see the register immediately and in its most up-to-date form. The ability to view this online enables immediate decisions to be made and advice given to clients that otherwise would have had to await the receipt of the official copy entries through telephone or postal application.

One can envisage situations where the arrival of the paper copy is really too late for a particular transaction or a particular decision. The modern world demands speed of delivery and quite naturally is impatient in cases where the delivery of information is delayed as a result of the manual process.

The e-lodgement service for the first time gives a practitioner the ability to lodge an application online at the touch of a button, which gives immediacy and certainty. In addition, and not least, there is the practical advantage of not relying upon any third party for that lodgement, whether by way of post, document exchange or other method of physical delivery

The speed and certainty provided by these services is second to none.
